1946 in America

WWII is over. Soldiers from the European theater are going home. 

The ship carried 15,000 soldiers. Segregation laws were enforced by white MPs, all of whom came from the heart of Jim Crow states. They were big, violent, and not very bright.

 Their orders were clear: enforce segregation by any means necessary.

 The MPs underestimated these Negroes.
